Neither myself or the audience gave Steve O'Hara of Optibiotix (OPTI) an easy ride at Monday's UK Investor event in the City. But he presented well and I note that the chairman has today announced the purchase of £150,000 of shares at 71p. Watch Steve closely and you will see why the chairman is buying and why the shares - which are our largest holding but one we have added to in the past couple of months - are so cheap.

Andalas Energy (ADL) is a company that even after its recent placing has NEGATIVE net current assets of $1-2 million and no assets of any value. I think it is worthless but its management wishes to meet me to explain why I am wrong. Hmmm. In this podcast I look back at a very valid point made by Dr Hon at UK Investor on a cancer still at the heart of the City. I look at AIQ (AIQ), San Leon (SLE) and Paragon Entertainment (PEL) - another Finncap debacle. Then I turn to Ed Croft and UK Investor who was rude to me ( who cares) as he over-ran his allotted time and pretended otherwise by slating me. He also called Nigel Wray a sucker for his investments. Ed: how rich are you? How many AIM stocks have you backed in a major way where you could have m,ade 100* your money? But I am sure you are right and Wray is a sucker. And then Ed presented data which though accurate allowed him to leap to a totally wrong conclusion. If I was scoring his thesis I explain why I'd have to give it a fail. Or as that is now on campuses today a 2:1. Unlike Ed I did not insult someone else on the main stage on their big day as that would have been rude but his nonsense needs correcting.

Background. Last year Paul turned up late for the UK Investor Show bearcast as he had gone to the wrong venue. This year I felt safe as two hours before the bearcast I knew Paul was due on the main stage with Paul Jourdan & Nigel Wray and he would not screw that up would he? Er.... As I walked off from the previous session I was told Scott was running 10 minutes late and so I agreed to start his session with Wray and Jourdan for him. 35 minutes later I was still there, over-running by a few minutes but managing well ( I thought). Still no sign of Scott. Anyhow in this bearcast I start off with five minutes on Blockchain with Malcolm Palle of Coinsilium (COIN) then it is onto Scott who seems not to understand that a fact is something that has happened, it is derived from the Latin. I have not slept since Saturday and I am cream crackered. I discuss a few of the movies I watched flying to and from New York. We have been on the case of bargepole stock Fusionex (FXI) since the world's greatest tech analyst Kevin Ashton flagged it up as a sell at UK Investor 2015. The bear case grew with Zak Mir giving it the kiss of death with not one but two buy tips but it was the trading statement last Autumn that really woke folks up to the genius of Ashton as an analyst and of Mir as a counter-indicator. Today we have interims. Natch, the shares are down - at 158p - but the stance remains a stand out sell.
